The fulfillment of democracy

I have the privilege of living in a democratic society. A society where cultural acceptance coincides with every breath. A society that recognizes the need and protection of social well-being from both a national and a global perspective. A society that encourages development and preservation of important resources that are collectively responsible for our future.

A society that believes in Mankind.

Mankind is not the greatness of developed nations and the trillions of dollars it produces each year combined with technological advances each day. At the sametime, Mankind is not the hundreds of millions dying of AIDS in Africa, or the billions living in poverty each day. Mankind is the accumulation of every single event that contributes to the progression and the regression of our species. The accountability is within each of us.

The importance of Democracy is our privilege to speak out, to physically act and to be mentally aware of current events in and out of our geographical location. The ability to voice our opinion when moral conscience takes a seat to politics. The chance to see that a child in Africa can receive proper education to succeed in their society. The power to help fund research to put an end to many diseases that plague nations already requiring desperate aid. The choice to support eco-friendly means of producing energy to extend the life of our planet, one tree at a time. The list just goes on....

I give credit to Canada for being among the top nations in the world to provide foreign aid, military peace services and humanitarian support. But why do so many citizens continue on with their own lives each day and choose to ignore everything out of their personal scope? Why are Canadians taking almost everything for granted and not utilizing democracy to better humanity? With simple choices in our privileged society, we are able to indirectly extend our helping hands across the world.

We are allowed to help. We are able. Please fulfill your part in democracy.

what song.....

What one song always gets you in the mood?

There are always a few songs that get me in the mood to do a certain activity. For instance, whenever I'm changing and getting ready to go out, I always need an upbeat song that gets me..a great song that helps me get dressed is Talib Kweli's Get By. Its hard to explain, but its just the right song that gets me shouting out the lyrics and next thing I know..I'm good to go.

Computers been down, everything is fixed now. Check daily, I'll provide you with the daily dose of randomness.
